Bread Making

Yesterday I had the opportunity to go to a church cooking group and we learned how to make home made bread.

I've been wanting to learn how to bake bread for the longest time and I'm so excited now because I'm not as afraid to use yeast!

I'm just excited because I'll hopefully be able to make bread that is much better than the bread at the store at a fraction of the price.

It's going to be a baking adventure and I'll let you know how it goes! Hopefully it will be an amazing opportunity to save some more money and eat healthy.

Food Storage Analyzer

I know I haven't posted a deal blog in a little while now because my hubby and I have been so busy but this is something I just couldn't stand to not pass on.

First of all, if you follow these instructions you can get a free $10 gift card for Emergency Essentials.

  • Go to the Food Storage Analyzer™ and create a free account - Click here to go to the Analyzer.
  • Try out the Food Storage Analyzer™ - Click here for Analyzer instructions.
  • Write a review of the Analyzer and post it on your blog and
  • Important: Copy and paste the code in the box below the red button (under step 5) to the bottom of your review post - this will add the red button to the bottom of your post.
  • Send an email to blog@beprepared.com with a link to your blog post. Put 'Blog Post Giveaway' in the subject line of the email so that we can verify your post and the button. Be sure to include your address so we can mail your gift card.

  • So, here are my thoughts on the Food Storage Analyzer. It is a great tool to use to track all of those great deals that we can find at the grocery store. I have started to go through all of the food my hubby and I have stocked up on and found out we could live for a lot longer than I was expecting on the food we currently have in our apartment. It's a comforting feeling to know that if we were to loose our jobs we could still pay for college tuition and eat really well.

Go try it out for yourself! You can add stuff that you already have and see where you might be lacking. Maybe you need some more protein or more carbs. It's great because then you know what to keep your eye out for when you are looking for deals. Also, you have the option of buying things to supplement your food storage straight from Emergency Essentials which makes things super easy.

    Easy Mac at Albertson's

As I mentioned in my previous blog post, Albertson's is having a great sale this week. It is a mix-and-match "Epic Savings Event"!

Basically all that means is that there are a wide variety of products that you can mix and match and when you buy 10 of the products, you get $5 off your purchase.

Well, one of the many products available are Easy Mac cups. My husband and I had never tried them before but we are constantly searching for things that are good to take to school or work for lunch and these are perfect!

They are on sale so that when you buy 10 they end up being about 50 cents each. When we were down the mac & cheese aisle we saw that there were in-store coupons to save 55 cents off two easy mac cups. We were able to grab a bunch of those coupons which made each cup about 25 cents. Not bad for lunches!

To sweeten the deal, when we were done at the register we saw there was a coupon for $2 off our next purchase on the bottom of our receipt.

Needless to say we went back and got some more Easy Mac and only had to pay 34 cents for 10 more  cups of Easy Mac.

Oh, it's not just regular Easy Mac either. It's all varieties of Easy Mac and Easy Italian.

    Great Deal on Raisin Bran

My husband and I love Raisin Bran (he loves it more than I do but we still love it.) Recently my hubby found a coupon for $1 off any Raisin Bran product 14 oz. or larger.

When we were at Albertson's the other day we noticed that they had a great deal on Raisin Bran. If you bought 10 boxes, the came out to be about $1.50 per box. We recalled the coupon for $1 off, went and printed off the coupons and ran back to the store.

In the end, we were able to pick up 10 boxes for about $5. What a great deal!

The best part is that the cereal is good for just about a year so we know that we will use it and it has added to our food storage supply that we have been working towards building up.

You can find the $1 off any Raisin Bran product at the following link: http://www.redplum.com/pages/ViewOffer.aspx?offerId=1003745&synsrc=newsletter_kelloggs

    Enjoy!

Free Hot Dogs for Your 4th!

This week my husband and I found Bar-S brand hot dogs at Buy Low market for 49 cents a pack. This is a great deal for hot dogs as it is but then we found a coupon for $1 off two packs of
    Bar-S Franks.

Most stores around where we live have them on sale for less than regular price, I think Wal-Mart also has a good sale going on them.

Anyway, just go to this website: http://www.bar-s.com/bar-s-coupons-form2.html and fill out the information it requests. After a few seconds a link will pop up under the submit button that will say something like "Click here for your coupon". Click on that and it will take you to the coupon.

I think you can print it twice per computer by hitting the back button and then clicking on the link again.

It's really a great deal if you are in need of hot dogs for your 4th of July celebration. This way you can get at least 4 packs for free and who can complain about that?

Krispy Kreme for your Dad (or you)

So today we found out that Krispy Kreme is doing a special competition for Father's Day.

The way it works is you find the ugliest tie you can find and take it in to your local Krispy Kreme and no matter how ugly or nice the tie is, you get a free dozen glazed doughnuts.

You do have to leave your tie with them but they enter you into a competition for free doughnuts for a year. I'm not sure if I even want the free doughnuts for a year but the dozen is fun to share with friends.

Call your local Krispy Kreme to find out if they are participating.
